How many girls do you know that can change their own oil? Well add this girl to the list. I can understand why people bring their cars in to get it done though, it was kind of a pain in the ass. Trying to jack the car up and then climb under booo. Also I only learned this in May. You would think I would recall more of the process...but here goes my best explanation of changing our. Keep in mind I don't know all of the correct terminology, I'm still a girl.
1. Jack the car up to get under, preferably on level ground and when the engine has cooled off
2. Open the oil cap under the hood, and pull out the oil dipstick? It creates a suction we need air to get in the for oil to go out :)
3. Put your oil pan under the car.
4. Now we get dirty under the car and loosen the cap under the car with the circle on a stick tool it kind of looks like a kitchen tool lol.
6. Take the cap off and make you don't lose it in the oil pan and you need to make sure you have the rubber circle that makes sure your oil doesn't leak.
7. Put the new oil filter in, make sure you have a rubber circle in the cap part, lube it up with oil to make a good suction.
8. Thread it careful you don't want to miss thread it and then mess it up or put on too tight, you will leak oil
9. Put the car back down, well get out from under it first.
10. Pour in the new oil per the amount the owner's manual says
11. Check the oil with the dipstick to make sure you put enough in
WHALLA!
