My bucket list is made up of a 101 tasks I have to complete in 1,001. The tasks include silly things, meaningful ones too, and things (if you know me) I have never been able to complete. Follow me as I actually finish something I have started, find real strength in my word and integrity in completing something I said I would do and maybe some of your own motivation to start tackling your own bucketlist. The 1,001 days ends October 15, 2012…

# 18 Visit Both of My Grandmothers

Grammy Phil's Visit

On Friday, January 29th, Jake and I headed out to Las Cruses, New Mexico to visit my Grandmother (on my mother’s side) and Aunt Dee.

We arrived Friday night around 8:00pm their time. We grabbed something to eat and headed home to get some shut eye.

Saturday we went to the farmer’s market. There were a lot of great crafts and musicians but I was really hoping for some great produce. Unfortunately, it was not really the season.

After the farmer’s market we headed to the Veteran Memorial. I was excited to see some roadrunners, beautiful scenery and of course my grandfather’s brick at the memorial. I was disappointed that a couple of kids sort of ruined it as they played football in the memorial field and were cursing at their bad plays. Have some respect.

Then we traveled closer to the Oregon Mountains to get a better look. I cannot believe how beautiful they are.

We then went to La Posta for lunch. The food was really great!! The restaurant is known for serving famous people like Billy the Kid, Kit Carson, General Douglas McArthur and Pancho Villa. It had great atmosphere in a cool little town.

We spent the rest of the night in with the ladies reading and playing chicken foot dominos. BEST GAME EVER! It was a great night with the girls + Jake.

Sunday we went out to breakfast, packed up our stuff and headed to the airport back to NJ.  We grabbed some pictures on the way of the mountains.

I am really happy Jake and I made the time for the trip. It was very rewarding for me to see my grandmother and resolve some unsaid issues we had. I will always remember this short little trip and hope I can go again in the close future.

Grammy Rachel get ready cause I am coming to you next!
